1. Who We Are

wow42 ("we," "us," "our") operates an adaptive engineering growth system — an AI-guided platform that takes an engineer from a specific skill gap to confident, applied mastery of that skill in programming — available at wow42.tech.

  • Legal entity: wow-42 Inc. 605 W 9th Street, Unit #1073, Austin, TX 78701
  • Mailing address: 605 W 9th Street, Unit #1073, Austin, TX 78701
  • Privacy contact: contact@wow42.tech

2. Scope

This Policy covers the wow42 platform: the AI Mentor, AI interview prep., gym trainers (Parsons puzzles, hallucination-hunting, output-prediction, analogy-breaking, algo-forge, token-roulette), theory cubes with audio narration, adaptive growth trajectories, and the exercise bank, accessed via our Flutter app and web app.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Account information

Email address, password (stored as a bcrypt hash, never in plaintext), name, role (student/admin), and account status.

3.2 Learning and behavioral data

To power adaptive learning, we collect and generate: skill mastery levels, spaced-repetition card history, exercise attempts and results, learning goals, engagement metrics, and an internal risk/at-risk assessment. Our proactive mentor system also tracks behavioral signals (e.g., time-on-task, idle periods, repeated mistakes, hint usage) to decide when to offer in-app help.

3.3 AI conversation and content data

Messages you send to the AI Mentor, code you submit for exercises, and — where you use voice or image input — audio and image content you provide, which is processed to generate a text response.

3.4 AI memory

We maintain a per-user "memory" of your learning interactions (stored in our database and a vector search index) so the AI Mentor can recall relevant context across sessions. This memory is deleted when you delete your account (see Section 10). We do not currently offer a way to view or edit individual memory entries in-app.

3.5 Technical data

Standard request metadata (IP address, timestamp, user agent) is logged for security and operational purposes (e.g., detecting abuse, debugging issues). We do not use this data for advertising. Separately, our public website uses Google Analytics to measure traffic, and only if you accept analytics cookies — see Section 6.

3.6 What we do not currently collect

Based on our current architecture, we do not collect payment/billing information, government IDs, precise geolocation, or biometric data, and we do not offer third-party social login. We do not use advertising cookies. We do use analytics cookies on our public website, and only with your consent — see Section 6.

3.7 Waitlist form

If you join our waitlist on wow42.tech, we collect the name and email address you enter in the form, together with the fact, time and page language of your consent, because we are required to be able to demonstrate that consent.

Your IP address is used solely to limit how often the form can be submitted. It is stored separately from your waitlist entry, expires automatically within minutes, and is never linked to it.

We use your waitlist entry to tell you when early access opens and, where relevant, to ask follow-up questions about what you want from the product. Your entry is passed to the tooling we use to manage that outreach, which processes it on our behalf only.

We keep waitlist entries until early access launches and for 24 months afterwards, or until you withdraw consent, whichever comes first. To withdraw consent or have your entry removed, write to contact@wow42.tech; withdrawing removes your entry from the waitlist. We reply within 30 days.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: provide and personalize the learning experience; generate AI tutoring, grading, and feedback; select and adapt exercises and lessons; detect and prevent abuse or security issues; and maintain and improve the platform. We do not use your data to train or fine-tune our AI models; all models are pre-trained artifacts we run on our own infrastructure.

5. How AI Is Used on wow42

  • All AI processing (chat, grading, feedback, exercise generation, text-to-speech narration, and semantic search) runs on models we host ourselves on our own servers. We do not send your data to external AI providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google).
  • Most AI requests pass through automated safety checks intended to detect prompt injection, unsafe content, and to reduce exposure of personal data in AI outputs. A small number of lightweight, low-risk functions (such as auto-generating a short title for a conversation) currently run without this additional check; we are extending coverage to these as well.
  • Automated systems may proactively suggest help based on your in-platform behavior (e.g., if you appear stuck on an exercise). You can dismiss these suggestions in-app.
  • Where we use voice narration, generated audio may be briefly checked internally against the source text for quality assurance.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

  • We use a small number of essential cookies and local storage entries to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. These are necessary for the service to function and are not used for advertising.
  • Our public website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use it. These analytics cookies are set only after you accept them in the cookie banner; if you decline, Google Analytics is not loaded at all. You can change your choice at any time from the link in the footer.
  • We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels, and we do not build advertising profiles.

Our Cookie Policy lists every cookie and local storage entry we use, what it is for, and how long it lasts.

7. How We Store and Protect Your Data

  • Your data is stored in databases we operate. Some information (such as your profile) is securely copied across internal services to support platform features, and that copy is removed when the source data is deleted or updated.
  • We apply role-based access control: sensitive actions (e.g., administrative functions) require an authenticated admin role, and regular user identity is verified via signed authentication tokens on every request.
  • We run automated security scanning as part of our software development process and perform periodic reviews of our infrastructure.
  • Passwords are never stored in plain text; they are hashed using industry-standard methods (bcrypt).

8. Data Retention

We retain your account and learning data for as long as your account is active, so the platform can track your progress over time. If you delete your account (Section 10), we delete your associated data from our active systems. Some limited technical records are deleted automatically on a fixed schedule (e.g., certain internal deduplication records after 30 days).

9. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. A small number of infrastructure and tooling providers may process data on our behalf solely to help us operate the service (for example, monitoring the performance of our AI systems); we do not permit them to use your data for their own purposes. Where you have accepted analytics cookies, Google receives website usage data as described in our Cookie Policy.

10. Your Rights

You can delete your account and its associated data at any time from your account settings in the platform. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, or export your personal information, and to object to certain automated processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 14, and we will respond within a reasonable time (generally 30 days).

11. Children's Privacy

wow42 is intended for users age 18 and older (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it.

12. International Data Transfers

We operate our own infrastructure and do not currently offer region-specific data residency guarantees. If you access wow42 from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States. If required by law, we will implement appropriate transfer safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for users in regions like the EU/EEA.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, where changes are material, provide additional notice (e.g., in-app or by email).
